This year, Magenta has hosted two exclusive solo shows celebrating leading female contemporary artists.
We welcomed self-proclaimed Glittering Queen of Pop Art, Emma Gibbons, to Magenta in May for sparkle, glamour, and unforgettable pop energy, and September saw dynamic landscape painter Anna Gammans return to North Devon with more of her vibrant, immersive seascape and abstract paintings.
We have one final show to share with you all before we start hibernating for the winter … this time something a little different and closer to home, Magenta Fine Art has teamed up with local photographer Georgia to bring you Kindred Tides – a collaborative mixed media exhibition, showcasing local photography (coinciding with Ilfracombe’s first annual photography festival) painting and sculpture with a special opening night chatting with North Devon Surfing Reserve, together exploring the idea of ‘Can Art Save a Coastline’ – in a one week exhibition bringing together art, community, surfing and conservation.

Kindred Tides – a collaborative mixed media exhibition, showcasing local photography, painting and sculpture- exhibition will run from 10th – 18th October.
Opening night – Panel discussion starts at 18:30 with some of our artists and Rob from the North Devon Surfing Reserve, exploring the idea of ‘Can Art Save a Coastline’ – bringing together art, community, surfing and conservation.
Coinciding with the Ilfracombe Photography Festival weekend – on Sunday 12th October, Nick Corkill from Croyde Camera Club will lead a photography walk in Ilfracombe, beginning at Magenta Fine Art Gallery. The session will offer an opportunity to explore a small part of our coastline through photography, with a focus on observation, place, community, and the relationship between people and their environment.
