Magenta fine art is expanding! Now in two picturesque locations, you’ll be spoiled for choice for your fine art gallery destination.

Based in the picturesque Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe, we’re only a stone’s throw away from the working harbour that flourishes with life; fishing boats and workers bringing in the daily catch, seals and gulls often following in their wake, all under the watchful eye of the incredible RNLI whose lifeboat is ready and waiting for their next call at any moment.

The town has a thriving local community and welcomes visitors from all over the world, many flocking to see the controversial ‘Verity’ Ilfracombe’s very own Damien Hirst sculpture. The bronze and steel figure stands 20.25 metres tall from the pier overlooking the waters toward South Wales welcoming boats into the Harbour entrance.

We are absolutely over the moon to be a part of this prospering historic town and intend to become a key part of the local community here by working together with local businesses to put North Devon on the cultural map of the South West.

Our Ilfracombe gallery is blessed with lots of Victorian features such as high ceilings, picture rails, original sash wooden windows and higgledy piggledy walls and lots of space, making it ideal to showcase the variety of styles we have on offer.

We look forward to welcoming you into this fabulous new gallery space, introducing a collection of originals, limited editions and sculpture from the UK’s leading contemporary art scene. Our hard working, friendly team will be there to assist you in finding that work of art that’s meant for you; whether its adding the missing piece to a current collection or taking the leap with your first piece of artwork, the colourful team at Magenta will be excited and privileged to show you the way!

Just around a headland or two from our flagship gallery in Ilfracombe, 8miles along the south west coastal path (a 5mile drive if you’re not feeling that athletic!) is our brand new Woolacombe gallery. Based in the centre and heart of one of the UKs favourite beach and holiday resorts, Woolacombe boasts a 3mile stretch of sandy beach and (sometimes) amazing surf bringing tourists in from all over the country. So when you’ve had your fill of sand castles and sea swimming, why not pop in to our bright new space to quench your artistic and cultural cravings.

We will always hold an eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional artwork across both galleries, with displays changing weekly during the peak season.

Due to their close proximities, if you’ve seen something in ilfracombe but are based nearer Woolacombe we can bring the artworks over to either branch, saving you the extra journey.

Our Woolacombe branch is all shiny and new, having had a complete refurb since we took the premises over, we were able to design the space from scratch and decided to add a viewing room, giving you peace, quiet and privacy to sit back and relax whilst considering an artwork to take home.
