If you’re in Ilfracombe, or in fact Woolacombe, and have 30mins to spare I would strongly recommend a visit to the Magenta gallery... The welcome you will receive will be exceptional and you will walk out of there feeling it was time well spent and, if nothing else, a better understanding of what types of art you may like. Additionally, it’s always nice to talk to people who are fantastically enthusiastic about something, doing a job that they love... A special thank you to both Nicole and Carly who were exceptional and a real asset for Magenta. They listened intently to my unsophisticated comments, and made really positive suggestions and comments, and made us all (including the children and the dogs) feel very welcome in the studios. Magenta is a fantastic gallery to visit with some amazing artwork. Alix and Nicole are very welcoming and friendly, as are all their team. We went to both of their galleries and then came back to one of their exhibitions with a great artist. We’re very fortunate with Magenta to have access to such lovely art in North Devon. The most unpretentious, welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable gallery you can ever visit. As a family we have been visiting both locations in Woolacombe but also Ilfracombe every year for as long as my children can remember. Fantastic artists and events. Has even inspired my daughter to use YUVI as part of her final Art GCSE this year. Even the dog 🐶 feels at home too. No gallery compares

We visited Magenta in Ilfracombe whilst on Holiday. Bright and cheerful with a wonderful varied collection of Artworks. The staff were polite, helpful and knowledgeable without being overbearing which can happen too often in some galleries. When a piece we were looking for by Fabian Perez appeared in stock on their web site, I didn’t hesitate to call them and agreed a purchase. We dealt with Natalia who was brilliant and so helpful. We will definitely keep an eye on their collections and visit again when we are in North Devon

Magenta has a gallery in Ilfracombe in a lovely old building near to the harbour and also a more contemporary, bright and light gallery in Woolacombe. Both galleries always having a beautiful and eclectic range of pieces, but it is the fabulous team here that makes both, or either, a must visit if you are looking for something special, or even just looking. Some galleries can be a bit ‘sniffy’ and a little intimidating but the atmosphere in both Magenta galleries is very friendly and relaxed. Nicole and Alix have made it a pleasure (and too easy!) to buy some amazing pieces. We are lucky to have these galleries in this little part of North Devon.

My second artwork purchased from Magenta, one the small number of galleries that have opened around the harbour area in Ilfracombe in recent years. It is bright and airy with a regularly changing collection of interesting and varied works that are professionally displayed. You are made welcome to browse freely, but the very pleasant and knowledgeable staff are there to answer any questions and tell you more about the featured artists and their work. An enjoyable experience, and it’s always nice to be remembered when you call in.

Pieces (and prices) that challenge any London contemporary gallery. I have bought a few pieces including a Tom Butler, Dan Pearce, The Connor Brothers and am nothing short of delighted. Artist visit events, knowledgeable and friendly staff make a visit a must.

We visited Ilfracombe for a staycation in August and had the pleasure of discovering Magenta Fine Art. The selection of art they had displayed was wonderful including an artist I had desperately wanted for a number of years. After deciding to indulge in a special purchase the customer service I received was first class, once I had purchased the artwork I received the same attentive service I had received before spending money. I will definitely be visiting the gallery on any further trips to North Devon.
