We have TWO exciting events left to share with you this year – one celebrating the creative spirit of our North Devon coastline, the other exploring the fascinating history of Ilfracombe through fashion and heritage.
From art, surfing and conservation to local history and style, there’s something a little different on the horizon. Read on for all the details, and come and be part of it!
KINDRED TIDES | 10-18TH October
Art. Community. Surfing. Conservation.
Magenta Fine Art has teamed up with local photographer Georgia Buckley to bring you Kindred Tides – a collaborative mixed media exhibition celebrating the creative spirit of our coastline. Bringing together local photography, painting and sculpture, this special one-week exhibition explores our connection to the sea, the coastline and the place we call home.
Join us ON SATURDAY 10TH OCTOBER for an exclusive opening night featuring a special panel discussion with North Devon Surfing Reserve, as we dive into one big question:
Can Art Save a Coastline?
Expect thought-provoking conversations, inspiring local creativity and a celebration of the people and places that make North Devon so special.

Kindred Tides – a collaborative mixed media exhibition, showcasing local photography, painting and sculpture- exhibition will run from 10th – 18th October.
Opening night with a panel discussion starting at 18:30 with some of our artists and members from the North Devon Surfing Reserve, exploring the idea of Can Art Save a Coastline? – bringing together art, community, surfing and conservation.
Coinciding with the Ilfracombe Photography Festival weekend – on Sunday 12th October, Nick Corkill from Croyde Camera Club will lead a photography walk in Ilfracombe, beginning at Magenta Fine Art Gallery. The session will offer an opportunity to explore a small part of our coastline through photography, with a focus on observation, place, community, and the relationship between people and their environment. Ilfracombe’s First Annual History & Fashion Exhibition
Magenta Fine Art is delighted to be showcasing a selection of dazzling artworks at Ilfracombe’s very first annual history and fashion exhibition!
Expect 1940s–60s glamour, from fabulous pin-up girls to iconic portraits… and you might even recognise a few Magenta faces taking to the runway at Saturday’s Fashion Show! 👀
Lucy from No28 The Cookery has been working tirelessly to expand her already fabulous collection of vintage outfits, and we cannot wait to see the full wardrobe come together!
