Dear Santa,

I've been very good this year… and I think I deserve a little treat. 🍭✨

I'm a magpie at heart, and this little beauty reminds me of being a child, hunting for treasure on the beach before the all-important ice lolly reward.

And Christmas is all about glitter, isn't it? So why not pay homage to the glittering queen of pop herself? A little sparkle, a little nostalgia, and a whole lot of happiness.

I'd quite like this one.

🎃 A LITTLE VERMEER. A LITTLE WITCHCRAFT. A LOT OF COLOUR.

This Halloween, we're celebrating the birthday of Johannes Vermeer – the Dutch master who knew that the real magic isn't always in the subject… it's in the light.

Centuries later, Lana Okiro brings her own kind of magic to the everyday, transforming still life into something wonderfully vivid with bold brushstrokes, luscious layers of paint and colour that practically leaps off the canvas.

Because who says a bowl of fruit, a slice of cake or an everyday object can't be spellbinding?

Vermeer gave us the poetry of light. Lana gives us a fresh, contemporary twist on the beauty hiding in plain sight.

✨ No tricks. Just seriously good art.

Happy Halloween from Magenta Fine Art, North Devon.

$MY FRIDAY FAVOURITE | A FAVOURITE CORNER One painting? I couldn't possibly choose! So this Friday, it's all about a favourite corner of mine. Six very different works, three artists, and one wonderfully immersive colour experience. I'm completely drawn to this combination. The dreamy colour palette instantly makes me feel calm, yet at the same time leaves me feeling inspired by the natural world and the extraordinary beauty of our planet. I love the graphic lines of Ian H. Watkins' Daydream and Magdalena Morey's Watching the Quiet Shore III. They almost act as bookends, framing the beautiful, more organic forms of First Blooms. And the colour blocking in Watching the Quiet Shore III? Absolutely love it! Then come the three brass artillery shell sculptures by Sam Peacock. Their deconstructed landscape forms bring another dimension to the arrangement, echoing the landscapes in the paintings through a completely different artistic language. His playful exploration of colour, texture and raw materials makes them such an unexpected, but perfect, addition. What I particularly love is how the six pieces connect. Graphic meets organic, painting meets sculpture, bold colour meets softer, atmospheric tones. Each has its own identity, yet together they create something really special. For me, this is what great art is all about. It's about how a piece makes you feel, the way it draws you in and how different works can transform a space. A little corner of colour, creativity and calm that I'd happily get lost in. And that's why it's my Friday Favourite! - Natalia GalleryDisplay GalleryFavourite FridayFavourite OriginalArt IanHWatkinsArt MagdalenaMoreyArt SamPeacockArt IlfracombeGallery MagentaFineArt$

Stephen Graham- Going Underground

“The London Underground has always fascinated me. For me, the Tube map is much more than a way of getting from A to B. It’s become such an iconic part of London something millions of people interact with every day often without really stopping to look at it. What interested me was taking something so familiar and giving it a completely different life as a piece of art. I love the simplicity of the design, the colours, the lines, the stations and the geometry but I also love what it represents. Every line takes you somewhere, and every station has its own story, memory or association.”

$📣INTRODUCING to the Magenta Portfolio- Tabitha Millett with her debut release Brushstroke - a triptych of textured box canvas. Simplicity, contrast, movement and texture. A minimalist at heart, Tabitha aims for depth and intensity through ‘doing less’. Influenced by brutalist design, architecture and Bauhaus, her sharp lines and expressive rigour create a balanced beauty and ease. Mixing her own colours with marble dust and limestone fragments, finding contrast with the darkest matte black. 🖤 On display now in our Ilfracombe gallery DM or 📞 01271 862590 for more info!
