$Now for something a little different and closer to home, Magenta Fine Art has teamed up with local photographer Georgia to create ‘Kindred Tides’ a collaborative mixed media exhibition, showcasing local photography (coinciding with Ilfracombe’s first annual photography festival) painting and sculpture with a special opening night discussion with North Devon Surfing Reserve, together we will explore the idea ‘Can Art Save a Coastline’ – in this one week exhibition we aim to bring art, community and surfing together in a conversation about coastal conservation! ART WITHOUT WALLS 🌿🎨
From 16 September, Frieze Sculpture returns to Regent’s Park, bringing the work of 11 international artists into the great outdoors.

We love the idea of art stepping beyond the gallery walls. And perhaps nowhere does this feel more natural than with sculpture – art that can become part of the landscape around us.

It’s something our own artist and sculptor Johnathon Whittaker understands beautifully. Inspired by his childhood in Barbados and a lifelong love of the ocean and nature, Johnathon creates abstract sculptures from wood, stainless steel, concrete and other metals, finding the natural flow, symmetry and beauty hidden within each material.
And did you know that many of Johnathon’s sculptures can be enjoyed both inside the home and outside in the garden? 🌿

We simply change the standard plinth for an all-weather outdoor base, allowing his work to sit beautifully amongst planting, terraces and natural surroundings.

There’s something rather magical about discovering art in the garden – a sculpture catching the light, appearing through the foliage or becoming part of the view from a window.

Because art doesn’t always need walls around it. Sometimes, it belongs outside. ✨
