Blue skies, sea dips, long coastal walks, and the ever-changing flora and fauna of the North Devon coastline... there's something about being immersed in nature that restores the soul.

It's a landscape that constantly reminds us why artists have looked to nature for centuries.

Those same flowing lines, sculptural curves and quiet sense of movement are beautifully echoed in the work of Johnathon Whittaker.

Growing up in Barbados and working as both a recreational and commercial diver, Johnathon developed a profound connection with the ocean that continues to shape his practice today. Working instinctively in wood, stainless steel, concrete and metal, he reveals the hidden symmetry and fluidity within each material, creating sculptures that feel as though they've been shaped by wind, water and time.

Nature has always been the greatest artist – and it's easy to see why it continues to inspire extraordinary sculptors like Johnathon Whittaker.
