#IWD many know Audrey Hepburn for her beauty... however, she was so much more than that; from surviving Nazi occupied Holland as child, she excelled in ballet despite the hard times, went onto pursue a successful career in acting, winning numerous awards, then in the late 80's became ambassador for UNICEF and devoted her time fully to humanitarian work until her death in 1993
.
What an incredible role model and icon for women today, and still one of the most recognisable portraits, widely used by artists working today... long may she live through the arts!
